Transnational meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria!

Presenting the second partner BFU, Bulgarian Football Union from Bulgaria!

BFU is responsible for the Work Package 2 whose main objectives aim to study, share and disseminate at European level best grassroots sports federation and club practices in using of contemporary and effective digital training and sports education tools. These tools aim to increase the coaches’ capacities, and athletes’ interest and performance in the F&B footbal and basketball, monitoring youth trainings programs for the project participating countries.

After the beginning of the workshop, BFU made a little presentation about the TeamUp Research on the digital training tools in European Football and Basketball(F&B) grassroots clubs. The partners discussed about the monitoring and success in sharing the report results on national level with the Bulgarian Basketball Federation and Bulgarian Football Union, another meaningful partner from Bulgaria! Before deciding the next moves they asked themselves how to create and develop the best possible educational programme for the designated target groups.

Municipality of Trani

 The municipality of Trani has extensive experience in cooperating with various stakeholders and organising round tables and forums on the topic of sport and social inclusion. The Municipality of Trani has already established a Public Council for Sport, which consists of 17 members including the city councillor, the representative of the National Agency for Youth and Sport, national and European representatives, etc. The Municipality of Trani organises sports events and activities for young people, promoting different types of sports, and enhancing the various sports clubs with educators and athletes.

Bulgarian Football Union

BFU is national football association responsible for the governance, development, and promotion of football in Bulgaria. The federation currently has approximately 142 employees. The football clubs-members of the Bulgarian Football Union are 36 professional clubs and 630 with amateur status.  Amateur sport is one of the pillars of the new BFU Vision 2018-2022, including several different projects. BFU is running on a yearly basis a few projects, aimed on the development of equal opportunities for all to practice the sport in a safe and attractive environment.

Cooperativa Sociale GEA was established in 2004 and is based in Padua. It designs and implements national and European projects focused on the inclusion of migrants and vulnerable persons, families and communities. It deals with intercultural integration thanks to partners and collaborators with different professional skills: mediators and linguistic and cultural experts, experts in migration law, experts in reporting and operational and financial management of funded projects.

Bulgarian Basketball Federation

BBF is independent voluntary association of basketball clubs which carry out activities for development of basketball in Bulgaria in the officially recognised by FIBA disciplines. The purposes of BBF activities are to take care for the functioning and development of basketball in Bulgaria; to create the directions, the main methodological requirements and documents regarding practicing basketballto organize any activity designed to make basketball widely popular and socially important sport; to make basketball a sport that helps for the education, social contacts, the formation of the culture of behaviour and value system of the young people; to ensure the best possible conditions for the increasing of the level of sports skills of the players and their best presentation.

Founded in 1365, UNIVIE is an internationally oriented university with a long track record in research and teaching. The University of Vienna's Institute of Sport Sciences (ISS) currently holds five chairs: Sport Physiology and Performance Physiology, Sport Sociology and Sport Economics, Kinesiology with a focus on biomechanics, and Sport Informatics.  Co-operation and linkage with sports, health and economic organisations as well as other scientific disciplines emphasise the identity of the sports sciences as an integrative discipline.
